Every query is written in the same order

The parts of a query always appear in a set order: SELECT, then FROM, then WHERE, then GROUP BY, then HAVING, then ORDER BY, then LIMIT. You only use the ones you need, but the ones you use stay in that order. Swap two around and the database won't understand the query.

A tiny example

In plain English: Read a query in this order: what to show, where from, which rows, how to group, which groups, how to sort, how many to keep.

SELECT →
FROM →
WHERE →
GROUP BY →
HAVING →
ORDER BY →
LIMIT
