SQL Sip

privacy, plainly

SQL Sip is a small puzzle game. There are no ads, no trackers sold to anyone, and no account required to play. Here's everything it stores.

what stays on your device

Your Sip count, which sips you've finished, your daily cap and your settings live in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data clears them — and if you never sign in, that's the only copy that exists.

if you sign in with Google

Signing in is optional and only exists to back up your progress across devices. We receive your Google account's email address and user id from the sign-in provider, and we store your progress (Sip count and completed sips) against that account. We don't read your Gmail, contacts or anything else, and we don't sell or share this with anyone.

anonymous usage data

To see which puzzles are too hard or where people get stuck, the app records simple events — a sip started, a sip solved, a hint used, a report opened. Each event carries a random id generated in your browser, not your name or email. No IP-based profiles, no cross-site tracking, no advertising pixels.

email

The site doesn't ask for your email — you enter with an invite code, and your progress stays on your device. The only place you can leave an email is the optional field on the puzzle report form, and it's only used to follow up with you.

reporting a puzzle

When you flag a sip, we save the puzzle, the reason you picked, your optional note, and a little context (wrong attempts, hints used) so we can fix it. The email field there is optional and only used to follow up with you.

children

SQL Sip isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.
